"O FIM DA FILA" EM PROJETO ESCOLAR NA SUÍÇA!

"THE END OF THE LINE" SCHOOL PROJECT IN SWITZERLAND!

Fotos do projeto desenvolvido pela editora suíça BAOBAB BOOKS em escolas locais. Meu livro de imagem "O fim da fila" ("Eine geschichte ohne ende") foi a inspiração para atividades de pintura, música e dança com as crianças suíças. Reparem nos grafismos da cabana e nos trajes em preto representando as silhuetas dos animais. Foram exploradas sonoridades primitivas. Não é à toa que a BAOBAB é referência em publicações sobre diversidade. Minha gratidão a Sonja Matheson e equipe!

Some pics of the project created by Swiss publishing house BAOBAB BOOKS for schools. My picture book "Eine geschichte ohne ende" ("The end of the line" in German) was the inspiration for painting, music and dance activities with Swiss children. Take a look at the shanty graphics and the black clothes representing animals' silhouettes. Primitive sounds were explored too. That's why BAOBAB BOOKS is really a reference about cultural diversity. My gratefulness to Sonja Matheson and BAOBAB's team!

"MIGRATIONS" Project

Dois postais criados agora em julho para o projeto internacional MIGRATIONS, promovido pelo ilustrador sul-africano Piet Grobler, da Universidade de Worcester (Reino Unido), e apoiado pelo IBBY. O projeto recebeu postais de artistas de vários países – enviados pelo correio – com ilustrações de aves, abordando o tema "imigração". 

De 08 a 30 de setembro, os postais passam a compor uma exposição à parte na Bienal de Ilustrações de Bratislava, assim como um catálogo. Qualquer soma obtida pela venda de originais ou catálogos será destinada a centros de triagem de imigrantes.

Todos os postais enviados podem ser vistos no link abaixo, que também indica os respectivos ilustradores e os países onde vivem. André Neves, Marilda Castanha e Rebal Bueno também enviaram seus trabalhos.

Two postcards created in last July to the international project MIGRATIONS, promoted by South African illustrator Piet Grobler, from Worcester University (UK), and supported by IBBY. The project received postcards from several countries – sent by postmail – illustrated with birds, approaching the "immigration" theme.
From 08 to 30 September, these postcards are being exhibited at BIB - Biennial of Illustration Bratislava and will compose a catalogue. Any profits from catalogue or postcards sales will be forwarded to immigrations centers.

All artworks can be seen through the link below, which also indicates the artist's names and the countries where they live. From Brazil, André Neves, Marilda Castanha e Rebal Bueno also sent their artwork.

"THE END OF THE LINE" SHORT FILM WINS "TV RÁ TIM BUM" AWARD IN COMKIDS FESTIVAL (SÃO PAULO)!!

O curta obtém sua primeira premiação nacional – na categoria "Conteúdos Curtos", para filmes até 3m59s. O prêmio TV RÁ TIM BUM, oferecido pela TV CULTURA, inclui a exibição do curta pela emissora. Datas e horários serão divulgados aqui posteriormente. Parabéns à equipe de produção do filme* e aos premiados de todas as categorias (ver link abaixo)!

It's the first Brazilian prize of the animation – "Short Contents" category, for films up to 3m59s. The "TV RÁ TIM BUM" award is offered by TV CULTURA, an important Brazilian TV channel, and includes the film exhibition on TV. Congratulations to all awarded productions!

A animação baseada no livro "O fim da fila" está viajando por aí, selecionada para festivais ao redor do mundo: Brasil (3), Argentina, Croácia (2), Polônia, Eslováquia (2), Suíça, Bulgária... e agora PREMIADO na Índia!! No topo do cartaz, uma lista parcial de festivais internacionais para os quais o curta se classificou. 

The short animation based on the picture book "The end of the line" is travelling around the world, selected to many international festivals in Brazil (3), Argentina, Croatia (2), Poland, Slovakia (2), Switzerland, Bulgaria... and the most recent news was an AWARD from India!! A parcial list of festivals is at the top of the poster.

Biblioteca Internacional da Juventude - Munique

International Youth Library - Munich (2016)

Fotos de minha visita à famosa "Biblioteca de Munique" (out/2016), a maior do mundo em literatura infantil e juvenil. Referência para profissionais dos cinco continentes, a Biblioteca possui programas de residência para pesquisadores e é responsável pela prestigiada seleção anual "The White Ravens". Um local especial, sobre o qual ouvia falar desde que comecei a trabalhar com ilustração nos anos 90. Não poderia deixar de dar uma passadinha por lá, ainda que com menos tempo do que gostaria. 

Valeu muito à pena! Em primeiro lugar porque a Biblioteca tem como sede um lindo castelo: Blutenburg, que é muito bem conservado e se encontra num parque público, com direito a bosque com riacho e um lago habitado por patos e cisnes. Em segundo lugar porque fomos – eu, Breno e Pilar – muito bem recebidos por Jochen Weber, chefe da Seção de Idiomas da Biblioteca (equipe que anualmente faz a análise de publicações do mundo todo para o "White Ravens"), e pela brasileira Regina Cayres, que também trabalha na Biblioteca há anos. 

Sr. Weber gentilmente nos levou aos setores da Biblioteca/Castelo, onde conhecemos parte de seu importantíssimo acervo, enquanto a Regina nos mostrou na maior simpatia a encantadora vizinhança do Castelo: o bairro de Pasing. Finalzinho de tarde inesquecível! Minha gratidão a ambos.

Some photos of the famous International Youth Library of Munich, the larger children's and juvenile's library in the world and a great reference for professionals. The Library's team is in charge of the prestigious "The White Ravens" annual selection. 

The Library is a very special place, located at the beautiful and well preserved Blutenburg Castle, whose area is a public green park, including woods and a lake full of swans and ducks. A fantastic landscape!

My family and I were very well received by Mr. Jochen Weber, Head of the Library Language Section, who kindly introduced us to the main castle rooms and their exhibitions. Later, Ms. Regina Cayres (also Brazilian) showed to us the wonderful castle's neighborhood, called Pasing. An unforgettable afternoon! My gratefulness to them both.

60º Prêmio Alemão de Literatura Infantil

60º German Children's Literature Award

O "German Literature Award" é o mais importante prêmio destinado à Literatura Infantojuvenil na Alemanha. Finalista na categoria Álbum Ilustrado, "O fim da fila" (ou "Eine geschichte ohne ende", como é conhecido por lá) me levou à Feira de Frankfurt em outubro de 2016 para participar da cerimônia de premiação. 

A categoria Álbum Ilustrado, onde concorri, acabou por premiar o belo livro holandês "Der Hund, den Nino nicht hatte".

Isso não diminuiu em nada a imensa alegria de ter sido finalista (o primeiro finalista brasileiro) e de ter enfim conhecido a Feira de Frankfurt, reencontrado amigos e, principalmente, ter participado de uma grande festa em torno da literatura infantojuvenil! Só tenho mesmo a agradecer. Ao comemorar 60 anos, a cerimônia de premiação foi um megaevento, com direito a um auditório de 1.200 lugares – lotado – esperando o anúncio dos vencedores das cinco categorias (data: 21/10/2016).

Os finalistas da categoria Livro Ilustrado / The Picture Book category nominees.


The"German Literature Award" is considered the most important children's literature prize in Germany. As a nominee in the Picture Book category with "The end of the line" (or "Eine geschichte ohne ende"), I was in Frankfurt on October, 21th to attend the awarding ceremony. 

The Picture Book category winner was the great Dutch book "Der Hund, den Nino nicht hatte". http://www.djlp.jugendliteratur.org/english_key_facts-27.ht… 

However, it didn't change the great happiness for have been a nominee (the first Brazilian one) and have visited the Frankfurt Book Fair, for have seen some friends again and, mainly, for have taken part in a so important children's book celebration! The awarding ceremony was a mega-event, includding a completely full 1.200 seats theater waiting for the announcement of each five category winner (date: October, 21th). I am really grateful.
