"THE LINE" AS A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL ROOM
Hotel Jeonggwanru - Nami Island - Republic of Korea (Coreia do Sul)
Em meio a tantas notícias tristes, soube pelo amigo Kenny Minn que "O fim da fila", meu primeiro livro de imagem, teve mais um desdobramento: agora personaliza um dos quartos do fantástico Hotel Jeonggwanru, na Ilha de Nami, Coreia do Sul. Kenny é o responsável pela gestão do hotel, que pertence à sua família.
Quando visitei a Ilha em 2015, pude ver de perto o lindo trabalho desenvolvido no hotel. Cada quarto é único! Mais do que decorado, é totalmente integrado à obra de um artista. Há detalhes cuidadosamente inseridos em todos os ambientes, proporcionando uma experiência de imersão na obra escolhida.
Pois bem, novos quartos acabaram de ser inaugurados. E o número 113 é totalmente dedicado a "O fim da fila"!!
Foram também inaugurados os belíssimos quartos dedicados aos livros "Elliot" (um adorável coelho) e "A Willow boy who travel to the Moon" (de delicadeza ímpar), das ilustradoras Manon Gauthier (Canadá) e Jiyoung Kim (Coreia do Sul), respectivamente.
Feliz em rever, na varanda, os personagens de "O fim da fila" recriados em cerâmica para a exposição do Nami Concours de 2015 (ver posts da época aqui no blog). É uma alegria imensa saber do alcance, jamais imaginado, que esse projeto obteve. Por sua própria conta, voou mundo afora. Uma fila sem fim.
Meus sinceros agradecimento ao Kenny, à família Minn e às equipes do Hotel Jeonggwanru e da Ilha de Nami, por valorizarem tanto o meu trabalho! Desejo-lhes saúde nesse momento vivido pelo planeta – e a todos os amigos de várias nacionalidades que fiz em Nami.

In the midst of so many sad news, I was informed by friend Kenny Minn that "The end of the line", my first picture book, had one more deployment: now it personalizes one of the rooms of the fantastic Hotel Jeonggwanru, on Nami Island, South Korea. Kenny is the manager of the hotel, which belongs to his family.
When I visited Nami in 2015, I could see the beautiful work developed at the hotel up close. Each room is unique! More than decorated, it is fully integrated into the work of an artist. There are details carefully inserted in all environments, providing an immersive experience in the chosen work.

The beautiful rooms dedicated to the books "Elliot" (a lovely rabbit) and "A Willow boy who travel to the Moon" (of unmatched delicacy), by illustrators Manon Gauthier (Canada) and Jiyoung Kim (South Korea), respectively, were also inaugurated.
Happy to see, on the balcony, the characters from "The end of the line" recreated in ceramics for the 2015 Nami Concours exhibition. It is an immense joy to know the scope, never supposed, that this project has achieved. On his own account, he flew around the world. An endless line.
My sincere thanks to Kenny, the Minn family and the staff at Hotel Jeonggwanru and Nami Island, for valuing my work so much! I wish you health in this moment lived by the planet. - and to all the friends of various nationalities that I made in Nami.
